Victoria Trusty, Account Manager

What is your role at Canna Advisors?
As Account Manager, I am the main point of contact for our clients in all states that we are working in. I answer questions that the clients have about details and regulations specific to their project and ultimately serve as a liaison between the clients and our services team. If I cannot answer a question I put the client in contact with the subject matter expert on our team or a preferred vendor to respond. I also work with the Project Managers to coordinate the delivery and editing of the materials sent to clients.

What job(s) were you doing before joining Canna Advisors?
My transition into cannabis was when I became the first manager at the world’s first Bud & Breakfast in Denver. It is a bed and breakfast that supplies recreational cannabis as an amenity and gives tourists a safe place to experience legal cannabis. Prior to that, I was always in a customer service or sales role. I strive to give clients and customers the level of service that I would want to receive.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is when we win licenses for clients! The amount of gratitude that is shown by clients and other team members, as well as the sense of accomplishment, makes all of the long hours and hard work worth it!

Tell us something you do every day, without fail:
I read regulatory updates from different states with cannabis programs and news articles about the industry. It is very important to stay on top of any changes that states make to rules and regulations in order to be confident in the information that I am providing to clients. It is also interesting to read all of the different things happening within this industry and keep on top of the trends happening around the world!

What cities have you lived in?
Jackson, MS – New Orleans, LA – Dallas, TX – Denver, CO

What do you do in your spare time?
Going out to see live music takes up the majority of my time outside of work. I love the atmosphere of concerts and shows because music is one of my passions. I love being outdoors as well. Anything that gets me into nature is definitely part of my free time!

Tell us a little about your family:
I am the middle child of 4 girls. I was the only tom-boy out playing in the creeks while my sisters were playing with dolls and having tea parties. My parents are both very supportive of me and what I do. My mom has now become the resident cannabis expert for the tiny conservative town where she lives!

Travel Wish List:
My travel wish list includes Belize (dream destination since I was a little girl), Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippians, any where in the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand.

Interesting/little-known/unique fact(s) about you?
I am a classically trained first soprano. I went to a JR/SR high school for the arts run by the state, which I had to audition to attend. I was accepted among 35 others in the state of Mississippi to be a part of the vocal performance program. We got to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC and won many different local, regional, and national competitions for choral performance. The training and education that I received from that school helped me to gain a pretty nice scholarship for college (Loyola).

Favorite author(s): Mark Manson, Shel Silverstein, C. S. Lewis
Favorite smell(s): Mimosas (the flower, not the drink) and gardenias, fresh rain, ocean air

Favorite place(s): The beach/around the ocean, Red Rocks, with my family
Favorite food(s): Anything chocolate – I may have a slight addiction.
Seafood is my jam, although out here [in the landlocked state of Colorado] I am a little cautious about where to get it. I am not a picky eater so ‘foods I don’t like’ is a much shorter list!
Favorite way to consume cannabis: I am still pretty old school. I like smoking actual flower in a pipe, joint or blunt. Being a southern girl, blunts are my favorite. Dabs are fun too, but flower keeps my tolerance at a manageable level.
