Victoria Trusty, Client Services Specialist at Canna Advsisors, chose the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation for her “Days of Thanks / Days of Giving” recipient.

The Believe In Tomorrow (BIT) Children’s Foundation is a program that offers housing and/or respite housing to the families and patients of John Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland. They understand the importance of keeping families together during times of medical crisis and the need to have an environment to promote happiness, health and healing. Since 1986, BIT has provided over 750,000 overnight accommodations that help families stay together during medical crisis.
Believe In Tomorrow has homes and apartments within walking distance of John Hopkin’s as well as five retreat homes across the Eastern Coast for families to have a nice family get-a-way with all of the amenities and services for their child’s health needs. Military families are the top priority for two of the retreat houses as a part of BIT’s military initiative. These vacation houses give the opportunity for the families to relax and spend time together in a comforting setting. The houses are presented to the families free of charge for a week or weekend, along with various free passes for activities donated by local companies.

“I want to donate to BIT because I think this is a great service to offer to families who are already in need of a retreat but have money and time tied up in their child’s recovery,” Victoria explained. “This opens the door for these families to spend time together — worry-free — and focus on that time together versus the medical crisis they are experiencing.  This also brings a level of normalcy back into the child’s life to help with the mental aspect of their recovery.”
