Meet Our Summer Interns
Canna Advisors Legal Interns
We hired some incredibly bright and talented legal interns for the summer. They have been hard at work writing memos, assisting with Missouri application sections, researching and learning cannabis law, and providing comic relief for the past couple of months. Our team is very impressed and grateful for their dedication and productivity. Get to know them and get a glimpse of the youngest generation that is #buildingtheindustry.

What made you want to intern for a cannabis company?
Going to law school in Colorado exposed me to the unique opportunities offered in our state, and with more and more states legalizing all of the time, I was interested in learning more about the different approaches to regulating the industry. I also enjoy the intersection of business and law, and Canna Advisors was the perfect fit for my interests.

I live with my boyfriend Eric and my dog Raja, who I’ve had since she was a pup. She’s high-energy and always gives me a good excuse to go spend time outside. As a Husky, she loves frolicking in the snow here in Colorado. I’ve also started to enjoy playing in the snow, and Eric has helped me gain a great deal of confidence and skill on skis. We got in 35+ days this past season, and hoping to do even better next year.

Hands down, the people. It has been such a pleasure getting to know and learning from the Canna Advisors team, and I’ve been lucky enough to learn something new every day! Everybody here is very much an individual, but we all work together to create something larger than ourselves. I love it.

Tell us a little about your family.
My immediate family is a 5-person circus. My father, mother, two sisters, and I are all very similar yet wildly different people. My younger sister (Bug) just moved to NYC to start a new job in Social Impact Venture consulting, and my youngest sister (Olivia) is a sophomore studying Sustainable Architecture at UC Berkeley. At my parent’s house in Houston, we have 2 cats (Radar and Turbo) and 1 dog (Dixie) that have all become surprisingly vain in the last few years…I suspect the animals are snubbing me for having been away from home for 11 years…

What made you want to intern for a cannabis company?
Just a few months before applying I started doing research on CBD and its ability to mitigate symptoms for a skin condition that I have. Learning about the potential healing aspects of cannabis for myself and others made me want to explore more. In addition to that, I was really attracted to the opportunity for growth within the industry and for somebody that is at the start of their career, I thought why not enter a market that I can learn from its inception.
What’s the best thing about working at Canna Advisors?
It’s gonna sound cliche, but the people! I have never worked with such an intelligent, passionate, and well-rounded group. It matters to me that we play hard and work hard, and it’s a balance that most companies would only dream of achieving.
