“I would like to see it done as quickly as possible,” said Commissioner J. Michael Coffey, referring to the issuance of transporter licenses.

The next Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission meeting is scheduled for February 2 at 1:00 PM CT, and it is expected to be a critical turning point. Under current rules, all cannabis products sold in the state must be manufactured, as the sale of dry flower is explicitly prohibited. Without manufacturers, dispensaries cannot operate.

At the January meeting, the Commission also approved one additional cultivator license, leaving just one remaining cultivator license yet to be issued. While Nebraska’s rollout has been notably slow, these approvals indicate tangible forward momentum across multiple license categories.
