Diane Czarkowski spoke to the Cannabis Business Times about some of the issues and challenges around local zoning laws that cannabis businesses will face in east coast cannabis markets.
Canna Advisors helped clients win some of the first competitive cannabis business licenses in Massachusetts, and Diane spoke to her experience with zoning laws in that state, saying, “Massachusetts in particular has been so much driven by the challenges at the local level.” Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont have left the decision of passing moratoriums or having their own sets of zoning requirements to the local municipality, which can sometimes even involve a town hall meeting.
